One of the things I most appreciate about being part of the global logistics industry is the sense of community that we’ve built. Together, we share trade insights, collaborate, problem solve, and navigate the dynamic global marketplace. And that sense of community is exactly what I experienced at the TPM Annual Conference.
We’re only a few months in, but it’s already shaping up to be an eventful year in our industry. From the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) container weight verification that goes into effect this July to the growing population of mega ships moving across oceans, our industry is ripe with change—and opportunity.
Change isn’t always easy, but it’s inevitable. Networking and collaborating with others in the industry can be a great way to adapt to changes more efficiently and seamlessly. Pooling and leveraging knowledge, learning from diverse perspectives and experiences, and sharing insight can help us expand our thinking, create better solutions, drive innovation, and grow stronger as an industry.
The TPM Annual Conference was a forum to meet and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in our industry. While I was in California, I also had the chance to visit a handful of our offices in the area. All of the conversations I had over the week truly reinforced my belief that talented people are not only vital to our industry—they’re the heart of it, too. Let’s keep the collaborative momentum going through the year!
